Drinking and Gaming: Ticket to Ride edition

First I have to start with I love this game mainly because it a game that basically all my friends enjoy. I think it is the combination of simple game mechanics, travel themed and most of them like trains, so it is concept they can really get behind even without the inclusion of drinking.




Drinking rules for drawing cards:
When ever a person pulls the rainbow card from the flipped over pile, everyone else drinks;

When the flipped over cards are discarded everyone drinks;

When a person takes two of the same color cards from the pile the player to their right takes a drink;

When a player takes two cards from the draw pile the player to their left takes a drink;

(No picture here, this one should be self explanatory)


Drawing route cards:

When a player draws route cards they can assign 1 drink for each card they keep;
They have to take 1 drink for each card they discard;

If they draw a route card that is already completed by the player they can announce the route as completed, flip over the card and they can assign two drinks for each player playing as they wish;

If they route is completed by another player at the time of drawer has to finish their drink (honesty system is in play for this one)

The blue player draw the Seattle to LA card which they have completed, unfortunately New York to Atlanta has been completed by the Yellow train, so the blue player has to finish their drink, but gets to assign two drinks to another player

A player can draw discard all three cards if they get a new drink and finish it before the next players turn;
If a player discards all three cards, they can pick 1 additional route but must keep it, all players take a drink if this is done;




Building train Routes

If building on dual train route with another player on it both players take a drink;


Red and Yellow have to take a drink for building Duluth to Omaha


When building into a city each player with a route into the city assigns a drink to another player;

When a completing a route card, the player can flip over the card and assign a drink for the value of the card divided by 5 ie 15 point card be 3 drinks, round up to the nearest whole number;


Blue player completed both Seattle to NY and LA to NY. They get to give out 8 drinks, 4 for each card


Take a drink whenever someone builds the route that you needed to build; (Honesty system again)

All players drink every time a train pun is made.

End game

The player with the longest route gets to assign a drink;

Player with the shortest takes a drink

Player who drank the least during the game finishes their drink

Since all players will be way to drunk to do math there is no winner since no one can add up the scores properly. Honesty playing with these rules could cause major issues so drink responsibly while playing, don't go overboard.
