Well unfortunately the side stories are very sad and not that uplifting. Batista loses his cop partner in a firefight with a drug lord and vows vengeance. The first major lead in the case happens when he has lysic eye surgery so he is blind as a bat most of the movie. Leading him to have to get an uber and the driven happens to be a guy named Stu so we get Stuber and that is all the funny word play in this comedy. Life for Stu kinda sucks before picking up the cop on a mission. He works at a sportings good store but needs to make a bit of extra money so he drives uber and gets a lot of 1 star ratings. He is deeply in love with a women who considers him her best friend and they open a spin gym together. Not a lot is going well for Stu. I think his relationship with Becca is supposed to be funny but it fall flat. Becca gets no characterization she is just Stu love interest, there is no reason why we should think he loves her except for the fact he roles over and does what ever she wants.
The movie is at its best when the action is going and the physical comedy is rolling. If you don't enjoy people getting accidentally shot or hit in the head this is not the movie for you. Even if you do enjoy that this might not be the movie for you. It might have been a better movie if it went the drama route and cut Stu love story.
Overall I give it 2 out of 5 stars. Not going to watch it on TV unless force to by my friends.
