Hobbs and Shaw- all the action and family of fast and the furious

This is not the first spin off, Tokyo drift was. I don't care that it was spun into the greater story quickly but it is clearly a spin off from the main series as most of the crew does not appear in it. Yes this spin off does have bigger stars than that one does but Mr Gibson needs to calm down and accept that the Rock is a much bigger star than he is and let's be honest no one was knocking down his door to do a spin off of the fast and the furious. If this is the reason that Rock and Vin are beefing this is just silly. Hobbs in many ways has helped revitalize the series along with Decker Shaw.

Alright to the movie, as expected when you put two of the biggest actions stars in a movie it is going to be action packed. As all fast and furious are now the focus is on the action and while cool cars are in the movie it is not really the focus like in the first movie, but that is par for the course now. Through removing it from the core family of the franchise allows for the characters of Hobbs and Shaw to be fleshed out more as we learn about the families and some solid back stories as well. 

The movie did introduce some new characters like Decker's sister and an evil corporation that is trying to evolve the human race. It is going to be interesting to see where this new villain is going to appear in the future and how it is going to impact the main story line, or if it does at all. 

Normally this is where I would talk about the good job Kirby and Elba do in their roles but I know that my readers really only care about one thing when going to see these movies. The chase scenes and the fight scenes. Emotional acting who cares. Now there are several chase scenes in the movie with the highlight being when Decker drives his car under two trucks trying to get away from super human Brixton. The fight scenes are solid as well as expected with these two leads. The movie is actually what you think it would be. 

Go see it if you like action, if that is not your cup of tea catch it some rainy day.

Quick story about when I went to see it. The projector in the theater broke so they didn't show adds or have sound the first time they showed the first 5 minutes of the movie. Now there were people who complained when they showed the movie without any previews. It was 20 minutes into when the movie was supposed to start, so when previews would normally end and people complained that the  movie started. Are you kidding me. Now the crowd realized that the sound was not working for the movie the people added their own sound effects which was fun. Besides the people yelling we want previews it was a great crowd. For the preview people I guess they haven't heard of youtube.
